Skinflints is usually just about half full, which is a nice change from the typical shoulder to shoulder feel of many places in Bay Ridge.

Atmosphere: Skinflints has a very laid back, “feel good” atmosphere about it. It is dimly lit, with a beautiful dark wood interior. For those of you who remember Once Upon A Sunday, the bar there was originally in Skinflints as a second bar.

Gender Ratio: More men than women.

Dress Code: Very laid back - dress comfortably but neat.

Skinflints is one of the few Norwegian staples left in the Bay Ridge community. While very little about the place actually has a Norwegian feel to it, Skinflints remains the Norwegian hangout of choice.

Skinflints not only has an excellent bar, but also serves food most of the night. It is famous for is incredible char grilled burger served on a huge English muffin with a side of fries. I also suggest you try their Buffalo wings.

With its laid back style and atmosphere, it’s a great place to just go and hang out without the hassle of large crowds and pushy high school kids running amuck. All in all, Skinflints is a place that I have visited many times before and will continue to visit well into the future.
